Went to see “Sex and the City” at the cinema at IFC. Seats were big and comfy and the movie was a good one – yes, parts of it were about sex and love, but what I liked best was the friendship of the four girls: when one has a problem, the other three, or at least one of them, is always around to put the one in trouble back on track.

The City Super at the IFC was doing a roaring business on a Saturday afternoon, which means that visitors to this mall are now no longer just workers in the building as when it first opened. Not surprising, considering that it houses a cinema, many different kinds of shops and dining outlets, and the Four Seasons Hotel is just next door.

The Rio Hotel is not grand but the rooms are big and comfortable, with a King size bed or two Queen size beds. Recently they have started to serve a buffet supper in the coffee shop – at only $55 for a nice spread of food. I really enjoy staying there.

The musical fountain at Wynn Macau is almost as good as the one at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the performance is too short.

There’s a large balcony, with tables and chairs provided, at the MegaBox, something which one doesn’t find easily in any other mall, particularly in the city. A super place for watching the stars on a summer evening and the moon at mid-Autumn Festival! It would be terrific if some telescopes could be set up!

The MGM Grand Macau poses a few pleasant surprises with a beautiful and bright reception counter, and an arcade with changing color lights – first of its kind that I have seen.  I really like the Grand Praca, ideal place to enjoy high tea on a sunny afternoon, and I am impressed that they change the colors of the trees to fit in with autumn!

The western restaurants at The Elements are a bit expensive, I must say, for the higher income group. However, the Chinese restaurats are more affordable. Still, it is well worth a visit by any mall-goer to see the many well-known brands under its roof and to see its unique design and layout.

Visited The Elements the other day and I must commend that the MTR is putting up a first class shopping mall. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the place, in particular the rest rooms (and it seems Management is keeping them under constant inspection to make sure that they are so). Keep up the good work, The Elements!
