Macau Hotels
Neighbouring Macau has drawn international attention with the arrival of The Wynn, The Venetian, The Crown, The Sands, MGM Grand, Grand Lisboa, the Sofitel Macau, and the Four Seasons (with The Shoppes at Four Seasons), Grand Hyatt Macau, the Hard Rock Hotel, the new Mandarin Oriental Macau and the Altira Macau. Galaxy Macau (debuting early 2011) - a joint project of Galaxy Entertainment, Banyan Tree and Hotel Okura - and other well-known hotels such as the Shangri-la, Hilton, Marriott, Conrad, the Sheraton Macao (with 4108 guest rooms and 21215 sq meters of conference space), and the St Regis Macao are lined up to open in the next year or two, heralding Macau’s transformation from a small little-known city to the Las Vegas of the East.
Nevertheless, hotels like the Hotel Lisboa, the Rio, the The Landmark Macau, New Century Hotel, StarWorld Hotel, still maintain their own group of followers who prefer the Macau style entertainment and the cheaper rates.
Then of course there are the Pousada de Coloane, the Holiday Inn Macau, Pousada de Sao Tiago and the Westin Resort, which are strictly for those who just want a relaxing holiday with their families, or a quiet game of golf, although the Westin Resort is also a good venue for a brain-storming session.
